2010 Reunion of the Haines Family Association

On Saturday, July 10th, families and friends gathered at the South Lake Pavilion of North-South Lake Campground in beautiful Haines Falls, NY, to celebrate our 24th annual reunion, 10 generations and 231 years on the mountaintop. The weather was beautiful again this year. Children enjoyed the fun activities that were provided and made  up their own things to do as well.
After our picnic and socializing, we held a brief meeting to update everyone on our progress with the projects we are working toward completing, including cemetery restoration and maintenance, highway clean-up, road signage in memory of Lt. Richard Haines, and more. The following were elected for the 2010-2011 year: Richard E. Haines, president; Harold Palmer, vice-president; Rachel Haines, secretary; Robert Haines, treasurer; and directors Gail Haines, Susan Haines, Ron Haines, Harriet Bucca, Robert Haines, Linda Schultz, Nancy McGowan, George Van Dyke, and Anthony Bucca.
We also held our annual baking contest and a 50/50 raffle. Awards were given for the youngest boy and youngest girl attending; the largest family group; matriarch and patriarch; and farthest traveled. Another beautiful day, much enjoyed by family and friends.
